Risi V V. is a seasoned engineering leader with over 13 years of experience in designing, architecting, implementing, and delivering high-performance, highly-available, mission-critical and engaging user-facing applications for web and mobile platforms. Currently working as the Associate-Director of Engineering at Pharmeasy, Risi is responsible for leading the (B2C) Storefront client engineering charter for the pharmaceutical, OTC, and diagnostics business verticals. This involves ensuring a seamless website and mobile native app experience that enables growth, acquisition, retention & alliances, improving conversion funnels, and rendering post-sales customer services on the platform. Risi has a strong background in mobile tech, with expertise in ReactNative and Webview adoption on Android and iOS. This has helped unlock faster feature Go-To-Market with OTA Code Push capabilities and zero compromises on performance and UX. Additionally, significant improvements in tech metrics have been achieved, largely reductions in app crashes, frozen frames, app launch time, native to RN/Webview transition time, and app size. In the past, Risi has worked as an Engineering Manager at Postman and a Senior Engineering Manager at Myntra. At Postman, Risi led key product initiatives, including porting the Postman native app to the web and instrumenting it to capture performance analytics. At Myntra, Risi was responsible for building customer self-serve flows on Myntra.com, including the contact-us/help-center capabilities, and the complementing CRM business processes software and web services predominantly in the ERP domain with a core focus on E-commerce, Supply chain business function. Risi has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering. Risi's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Web, Mobile, Search, infra, iOS, React Native, Android, and test. Risi's managerial traits and inclinations include effectively navigating team dynamics to address ambiguity and conflicts, thoughtful stakeholder management, AOP and quarterly roadmap planning, RIDA (Risk, Impedance, Dependency, Assumption) based program tracking, and following a relaxed Scrum based Agile methodology. Risi has managed two teams of engineers, direct and through an Engineering Manager, and has also partnered with contractors/consultants for extended help in executing charter plans.
